Downtown Josh Brown’s Blog & Book

I've been listening to Investor and CNBC Contributor Josh Brown’s new book this week, You Weren’t Supposed To See That: Secrets Every Investor Should Know.

I regularly consume his and Michael Batnick’s “What Are Your Thoughts?” segment on The Compound and Friends podcast or preferably YouTube every week (you see charts with visuals), as it provides a no-BS summary of key events happening on Wall Street.

I have a few bloggers who are also subscribers, and below is a bit of an excerpt from the book and some inspiration for you all. It motivated me when I heard it.

I spent 15 years writing about investing, trading, markets, regulation, economics, geopolitics, trends and fads, heroes and villains, entrepreneurship, culture, and the collision between Wall Street and Main Street.
My blog, The Reformed Broker, ran from the fall of 2008 through the fall of 2023 and has been read by millions of people over the years. I've heard from fans and critics around the world. I've met people from every walk of life who have been reading my work—young, old, amateur investors, professional traders, you name it.
I've received thousands of emails—most of them encouraging and grateful for my perspective, but some completely unhinged or furious with something I'd said. I've posed for pictures, responded to handwritten letters, sent happy birthday videos to fans, signed thousands of books, and even surprised a guy whose wife begged me to stop by a lunch she had planned across the street from my office, on the off chance I’d say yes. That one didn’t go well, but that’s a story for another time.
The blog has been the center of my professional life, and it occupied a great deal of my personal life as well.
The blog is what saved me from a career in obscurity, selling stocks to strangers over the telephone. It's how I met my mentor, idol, and current partner, Barry Ritholtz. It's also how the first dozen or so employees who came to work with us discovered what we were doing.
The blog earned me columns at Fortune, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo Finance, and elsewhere. It got me seen by television producers at CNN, Fox Business, Bloomberg, and ultimately CNBC, where I’ve been an on-air persona since 2010 and a contributor under contract with NBCUniversal since 2012.
The blog established me as a pundit worth listening to and landed me on all the "40 Under 40" and "Most Influential" lists.
The blog opened doors for me all over the world, changed my life, and according to many investors and fellow advisors I’ve heard from over the years, it’s also changed theirs.

Staying in New York, we found this over the weekend. CoreWeave seems to be strengthening their Accounting and Finance team even further. This usually means they might be looking to spruce up their books to go public.
