Figuring it out.

OpenAI-funded humanoid robot startup Figure released its second version of its product earlier this week. Like the Figure 01 launch, the Figure 02 product launch video we have linked below is highly produced and seems almost too good to be true.

The demonstration of the humanoid working in the BMW factory in Spartanburg, SC gives you a glimpse of what the potential of this technology could be.

With the launch, we have also seen hiring ramp up at Figure, with seven open positions appearing from them today - all located in Sunnyvale within the Bay Area.

That’s interesting…

• The Daniel Ek funded European AI Defence tech startup Helsing has four Commercial finance roles in Germany and the UK. The roles indicate that they are tendering for business at the respective Defence departments and are ramping capacity to accommodate for bids.

• Xethub who build software to help manage large models were acquired by Hugging Face today. All the best to them at 🤗

• Also today, the travel AI platform Flyr, which is featured in our newsletters quite regularly, raised $295 million in a Series D round led by WestCap, with support from BlackRock. They have two job openings in today's email, one in Amsterdam and one in Krakow.

• We track Abnormal Security, and they frequently have job listings in each newsletter. Earlier this week, they announced a $250 million raise at a $5.1 billion valuation. LinkedIn indicates they currently have almost 800 employees, and we have another four roles from them today.

• Transformer ASIC developer Etched raised $120 million last month. It seems like they have started to spend that money, with four new roles appearing from them today as well. That is more open positions than they usually post, and they are all Cupertino-based.

• We mentioned integrated circuit developer Groq's $640 million raise in Monday's newsletter. They wasted no time with hiring, with 7 new open positions at Groq today.

• University recruiting at Databricks was updated earlier this week. Seven software engineering internships have appeared in Bellevue, Mountain View, and San Francisco. This is a great opportunity for any students looking to gain experience at one of the leaders in the artificial intelligence boom.
