Crusoe in Iceland ❄️

Last week, we posted a job for the first time in Barbados. Today, we have our first two jobs in Iceland.

Crusoe is a Denver-based technology company focused on reducing the environmental impact of flared natural gas by converting it into a power source for data centers, particularly those handling energy-intensive tasks like artificial intelligence. Through innovative gas capture and power generation systems, Crusoe provides sustainable infrastructure for digital services while significantly lowering carbon emissions.

The company has raised over $700 million across multiple funding rounds. Crusoe has invested in acquiring 20,000 Nvidia GPUs to enhance its AI-focused cloud services.

In December 2023, Crusoe announced a collaboration with atNorth, a Reykjavík-based data center services company, to expand its data center operations in Iceland. This project will utilize 100% renewable geothermal and hydro energy, marking Crusoe’s first European venture aimed at advancing clean computing infrastructure for AI and high-performance computing.

Today, we noticed two job openings at the new Icelandic Crusoe Data Center: Data Center Operations Manager and Data Center Operations Technician in Reykjanesbær, Iceland. Reykjanesbær, a coastal town about 50 km / 30 miles from Reykjavík, is renowned for its abundant geothermal energy resources, making it an ideal location for sustainable data center operations.
